The Story
Aiwaworld is a web-based youth channel showcasing the Aiwa brand of consumer electronics. The project was uniquely anchored by an unprecedented audio-visual experience that eliminated the use of text-based communication and navigation. THE_GROOP's biggest challenge was to collaborate with team members across the globe to create an online experience like no other. The project involved everything from animation to audio editing to an audio-visual mixer, which encompassed 35 tracks across multiple music genres.
The Results
We collaborated across four time zones with a team of over 30 creatives and technologists from Weiden+Kennedy Tokyo, Weiden+Kennedy London, and Ocean Monsters in LA.
Leading the UI efforts, we created an interface that omitted text-based communication and instead activated a visual language to navigate through the online experience.
Aiwaworld received a great deal of attention not only from the creative world, but also from the consumer electronics sector. The project was a successful component of a global campaign for Aiwa, winning multiple international awards.
