The Story
The Groop recently collaborated with Music.com on a redesign of their high profile website. The Groop was tasked with re-imagining their current product strategy, architecture and visual design. First, The Groop worked with Music.com on their tactical product strategy and online positioning to determine the core needs of their audience. The discoveries we made supported several fundamental changes that determined the direction of the site functionality. The challenge was to provide a seamless music discovery platform allowing users to browse content with little interface noise while showcasing the rich content the site features. The Groop worked closely with the Music.com team to provide business strategy know how, user experience expertise and design craftsmanship to build an innovative product.
The Results
The Groop's user experience team designed a highly intuitive and scaleable architecture system. This approach allowed the content to take precedence over the interface encouraging exploration of content first and foremost. Our goal was to give users less distracting choices but more valuable and personalized options. The visual design system was structured to give Music.com a unique character and solid brand appeal while streamlining the sites overall look and feel.
