The Groop Announces it’s “Groop Summer BBQ 2009 & Lawn Chair Panel” on Thursday, July 16th 2009
July 10, 2009
To celebrate The Groop’s merger with Broadtent & bring in the summer with discussion, music, drinks, tacos, hot dogs & ice cream.
The Groop, a Los Angeles based digital agency known for their collaborative creative approach with advertising agencies and brands, announces it’s Summer BBQ & Lawn Chair Panel on the future of advertising.
Thursday, July 16th, The Groop & luminaries in the advertising, media, motion graphics & interactive industries will gather at 401 Main St. (a 1903 Bank complete with a vault) celebrate the summer and enjoy the music of DJ Pablo Aguilar, organic tacos from the “Green Truck” ( http://greentruckonthego.com/ ), hot dogs, ice cream from Cool Haus ( http://twitter.com/coolhaus ), beer from Krombacher (http://www.krombacher.com/) and more!
“Our goal is to bring together our friends in advertising, interactive, and broadcast to celebrate the future. It’s easy to get caught up in the economy and the uncertainty of our industries, but the reality is that we are just at the beginning of a very exciting time. So lets party!” Commented Seth Epstein Chief Catalyst of The Groop.
In addition, The Groop will host a panel discussion at the beginning of the evening to discuss Advertising in the Digital Landscape & the role that creativity plays in online marketing. With the increasing transfer of advertising dollars to online and a difficult economic climate pressuring advertising budgets downward there is a need to create a new collaborative environment and language that allows for ad, interactive, and motion graphics agencies to collaborate in unimagined ways.
The “Lawn Chair Panel” will feature Benjamin Bratton, a professor of media studies at UC San Diego, Todd Mendeloff, VP of Digital Media Marketing and Distribution Walt Disney Studios, Summer Swigart Chief Techie (Director of Technololgy) at The Groop and David Brody, Managing Partner at North Venture Partners. The discussion will center around the role of creativity in advertising and media. If you are in either business this is a must see panel.
